What’s better than a burger? Several burgers. And what’s better than several burgers? Several burgers and a pizza. This seems to have been Burger King’s thinking when they invented the NY Pizza Burger, due to debut next month.

The artery-clogging calorie-fest is a burger four times the size of a regular Whopper and filled with pepperoni, mozzarella and Tuscan pesto and marinara sauce. It comes in a nine-and-a-half-inch sesame seed bun sliced into six pieces to resemble a pizza.

The Pizza Burger is meant to be shared as Burger King’s press release explains: “Made for sharing and served in slices, this new burger will boast the best of both pizza and burger ingredients.”

But if you felt you could manage a whole one to yourself, be warned: each burger contains about 2,520 calories – which is more than a man’s daily recommended intake.

Each one also contains 144g of fat, 59g of which is saturated, and 3,780mg of salt – more than double the 1,600mg daily limit for adults.

Fortunately for waistlines around the UK, the NY Pizza Burger is only available in New York. If you want to take a trip to the new flagship Whopper Bar in New York’s Times Square, you can buy a Pizza Burger for $13, or £8.40.

As well as this cholesterol-busting burger, you will also find delights such as the Meat Beast Whopper, which includes burger, bacon and pepperoni, the Black & Bleu burger including blue cheese and Cajun sauce or, for a healthy alternative, the Chicken Sandwich which has a new bun with slightly fewer calories, fat and sodium in it.
